Cymphonique Miller, star of How To Rock, is the youngest cover girl ever for DOPE magazine! In the interview, she talks about pressure from being raised in such a talented family, friendship, and of course How To Rock! Check out some of the highlights below:
On being in the family business – “I think it would be a lie if I said, “No, there’s no pressure there.” My brother has won Billboard Music Awards, my dad sold 75 million records and has 5 Grammys and I’m still crazy enough to be in the entertainment business. I think there is pressure but I just use it as a shield for me. I never wanted to be in the industry because that’s what they were doing. It just happened to be a coincidence. It’s always been in me, but I feel like I’m running my own race.”
On starring in How To Rock – “To be on my own TV show and for it to be doing so well, I give big props to the fans. I remember when I used to have a shirt that said, “I should have my own TV show.” (Laughs) It’s great to see how far I’ve come.”
On being a good friend – I think that if you want to maintain a good friendship, you have to be able to listen and not be so quick to pass judgment. Love with an open heart and be easy-going. With my closest friends that I’ve had for a long time, there’s no drama, no one trying to compete. We can just hang out, act silly, and be ourselves. I think that being able to just hang out and be yourself is important in finding your real friends because they’ll accept you for who you are.
